How I make passive income online in 2024

Before we get started, I just want to make it clear that the methods I use to make passive income don’t equate to life changing amounts of cash. At most, you’ll be making enough for a small treat every now and then. You’ll make way more money working a minimum wage job, assuming it’s at least a few dollars an hour.

The methods I use are mainly targeted towards people who for whatever reason cannot get a job, have a ton of free time on their hands or leave their PC or laptop on a lot.

Fully Tested

Fully tested methods mean, that I’ve earned credits on these methods and I’ve also been able to successfully withdraw those credits into actual cash or redeemable gift cards. I have added two sites here, where I haven’t redeemed actual cash yet. However, since they’re both fairly well known and trusted, I decided to add them here anyway.

Coupert – Cashback Extension

Coupert is a browser extension that helps you get cashback, whenever you shop online. They also have a mobile app.

You can check-in daily on the website or on the app to receive 10-35 Gold. 100 Gold is equal to 1 USD. If you earn 1 USD worth of cashback credit, you can convert up to 1 USD worth of Gold into credit, essentially doubling your cashback. Keep in mind, that Gold expires 1 year after collecting it, if it isn’t converted into cashback credit.

I’ve mainly been using Coupert to claim cash back on steam keys. I’ll show you 2 purchases so you can get an idea of the cashback I got.

Back on the 6th of October 2023, I bought the Humble Choice on Humble Bundle. It was 106.61 Euro which was 113 USD back then. I ended up receiving 3.12 USD as cashback, which means I got 2.76% cashback.

Moving on to a smaller purchase I made on Fanatical on the 23rd of April 2024. In total I paid 26.97 USD and received 0.33 USD cashback + an additional 0.17 USD, since I have Coupert Plus. Without Coupert Plus, I received 1.22% cashback. With Coupert Plus, I ended up with 1.85% cashback.

Is Coupert Plus worth it? Coupert Plus increases your cashback on all eligible sites. While it’s active, whenever you withdraw your cashback credit to your Paypal, the Paypal fees are then added back to your cashback credit balance.

Personally, I thought it would be, as I planned on buying a lot of steam keys over the year that I’d have it. At the time, I paid 72 USD for 13 months of Coupert Plus. So far, I’ve saved 22.68 USD. Considering the fact, that I was able to convert 2’268 Gold into cashback, that would have otherwise expired, let’s say I saved 45.38 USD in total. Unfortunately in my case, it hasn’t been worth it for me. I’d personally only get Coupert Plus if you plan on spending a lot online or if the stores you’re buying from just happen to have crazy high cashback rates, which will only get higher with Coupert Plus.

So far, I’ve been able to withdraw 136.99 USD into my Paypal. My most recent withdrawal took less than 24 hours. I’m personally very happy with the amount I’ve been able to save with Coupert, however since I don’t have much experience with other cashback extensions or apps, I can’t say whether Coupert is the best cashback service out there.

FreeCash – GPT Site

FreeCash is a GPT (get paid to) website that has a bunch of offerwalls and surveys. They even have their own offerwall. I personally mainly complete offers via the FreeCash exclusive offerwall or the offers on the AyetStudios offerwall. From my experience, when completing an offer on either of them, I usually receive my credits within a few minutes.

When it comes to the offers, I choose games that I’d be interested in playing anyways and I always make sure that I choose offers that reward you for doing multiple tasks. For example: 100 coins when you reach level 5, 200 coins at level 10 and so on. That way if for some reason I don’t get rewarded when reaching the easiest goal, I won’t end up wasting any extra time with that offer.

FreeCash has a level progression system. For every 1000 coins that you get, aka 1 USD, you’ll level up. Your level influences the amount of extra credits you can get on the daily bonus ladder. If you’ve earned at least 1000 coins within the past 7 days, you’ll be able to claim credits from the ladder. It starts off at 0.01 USD, but this bonus increases every 10 levels up to 0.10 USD by the time you reach level 100.

As of writing this blog, I’ve made 234.60 USD on FreeCash. Up to now, I’ve only withdrawn gift cards. 2 League of Legends gift cards 2 years ago and 1 Fortnite gift card 4 months ago, which have all worked.

Swagbucks Answer App – Daily Poll

Some of you may have already heard of the GPT (get paid to) site called Swagbucks. Just like Freecash, they have a bunch of offerwalls and surveys. I personally just use their mobile app and complete the daily poll question every day, which rewards 1 SB, which is 0.01 USD. It’s not a lot by any means, but it’s something that takes 10 seconds.

I haven’t redeemed anything yet, but I’ll still keep this passive income method in the Fully Tested section, as Swagbucks is a fairly reputable site and is very well known. For more opinions on Swagbucks as a whole, you can check out these reviews on Trustpilot.

Microsoft Rewards – Get Paid to Search

If you use Microsoft Edge or Bing to search on the internet, you’ve probably also heard about their rewards program. Microsoft Rewards rewards you with 3 points for every search that you make. There is a 90 point limit on desktop and a separate 60 point limit on mobile, assuming you earned at least 500 points the previous month. If you didn’t earn that much, your limit will be a lot lower.

You also get daily PTC (pay to click) tasks that award you 10 points each. Completing all of your daily tasks for a few days in a row will award you with a streak bonus. This averages out to an extra 15 points per day, assuming you don’t miss your daily tasks. On the Bing mobile app, there’s even a daily check-in that awards an extra 5-20 points.

Per day if you’re really grinding, you can get up to 180-200 points a day. 1000 points equals 1 USD. You can redeem your points for charitable causes or for a variety of gift cards that vary depending on where you live. Up to now, I’ve earned over 59’000 points and redeemed 26’000 of them. I redeemed 4 League of Legends gift cards. Each one was 6’500 points and had a value of about 5 Euros.

Something I’ve noticed is that gift cards for offline stores will have a higher markup compared to gift cards for in-game currency. Keep that in mind when deciding what you’ll redeem with your points.

Honeygain – Internet Sharing

Disclaimer: When sharing your internet through applications like Honeygain, people buying your internet could use it to do malicious or scammy things with your ip, which could mess up your earning opportunities with the sites I’ve mentioned in this guide.

You can earn with Honeygain by downloading their app on your phone, laptop or PC. Honeygain shares your internet and pays you 20 cents for every Gigabyte you share. You can also earn through Content Delivery, which is not available on mobile, where you’ll get paid hourly.

1000 credits is 1 USD. You can withdraw your credits to your Paypal as soon as you reach 20’000 credits aka 20 USD, which means you’ll have to wait a long time until you can withdraw.

Alternatively if you’re into crypto, you can have your credits instantly be converted into JumpTokens via JumpTask, which is what I did. By doing so, Honeygain will also give you 10% more JumpTokens. As soon as you have accumulated at least 0.5 JumpTokens, you can withdraw them into your crypto wallet. Unfortunately, you can’t sell these tokens directly, but you can swap them into BNB and then sell those tokens.

These are my earnings in July. For context, I only had my the Honeygain application running on my PC. My PC was essentially running 24/7 throughout the month. On average I made 22 cents a day, which isn’t bad considering I never had issues with my wifi or my PC being too loud whilst I had the app running.

So far I’ve withdrawn 19.46 JumpTokens. As of today, they’re worth 20.85 USD. I can’t sell them directly to cash, but I can always swap them to BNB and then sell them. However, doing so requires a small amount of BNB as a gas fee.

Serpclix – Paid to Click

Serpclix pays you to search a given phrase on Google, to then click on a given site, which will be highlighted by their extension, and to then stay on that site for 1-2 minutes. You’ll then receive 5 or 10 cents for doing that. Essentially, you’re being paid to increase the search ranking of the client’s website.

From my experience, the website I need to click is usually on page 1 of the search results, so I don’t have to go scrolling through page after page. However, I also don’t get many offers. On average, I can expect maybe 1 or if I’m lucky 2 offers that I can complete a day. The amount of offers you can expect depends on your location and your ip quality. To avoid reducing your ip quality, be mindful of what you and others do with your internet.

Up to now, I’ve successfully withdrawn 4.40 USD to my Paypal back in October 2023 and I currently have 1.25 USD in the form of credits. Withdrawals are possible as soon as you have amassed 5 USD in credits. Payments are then sent automatically via Paypal in the first week of the following month.

Chequity – Passive Income

Chequity is one of the best methods I have in this guide when it comes to passive income. Chequity has a feature called AutoEarn. Once you’ve connected your discord account to the site, it will check once an hour whether you have a chequity link in your discord status and whether your account is either online, idle or on do not disturb. If that’s the case, you’ll receive 1 point per hour. This increases to 2 points per hour when you reach level 25 and then to 3 points per hour at level 75. AutoEarn is perfect for passive income, for those who have a PC or laptop that is always on.

Summarized, you can get 2.4 cents a day all the way up to 7.2 cents a day just by having a chequity link, which can also be your own referral link, in your bio.

You can level up by gaining points on the site, whether that be through AutoEarn, offerwalls, surveys, the faucet, ect….

1000 points is worth 1 USD. When I attempted to redeem a gift card, the website wouldn’t let me until I completed 3 offers. After completing a survey that paid 780 points, it told me to complete offers until I reached 1000 points. After completing a second survey that paid 1215 points, I was then able to redeem my 15 euro PlayStation gift card for 14’400 points. 18 hours later, I received my gift card code.

Also whenever you redeem something for 10’000 points or more, you get an additional 80 points on their challenges page.

Rewardy – Passive Income

Rewardy has the exact same AutoEarn feature as Chequity, with a few differences.

First of all, instead of earning coins directly, you get 1 booster point per hour. These can be converted into watch time on a 1:1 scale. Watch time can then be converted into coins by watching a twitch channel through the site. Every minute, you’ll convert 1 watch time into 1 coin. If you have booster points, 1 will also be converted into 1 coin per minute.

Second of all, at 00:00 UTC you’ll stop earning booster points. You’ll then need to reload the page and click the start button to resume your passive income.

Besides AutoEarn, you can also earn points by downloading the site’s apps. They have a quiz app, which is available on iOS and android, that rewards you coins every time you perfectly complete a 10 question quiz.

I haven’t tried out their android only apps, but apparently you can also earn coins by playing their Flappy Bird game app, watching videos through their video app or by listening to music on their radio app.

I withdrew 3’955 points worth of BNB crypto back on 22/07/2024. I ended up receiving 3.55 USD worth of crypto at the time, so I lost 40 cents through fees. However, I received my crypto after 20 minutes, so it was fairly quick.

AttaPoll – Paid Surveys

AttaPoll is a mobile app that’s available on iOS and Android, where you can get paid to complete surveys. You can withdraw your earnings to Paypal or Revolut as soon as you reach around 3 USD. Alternatively, you can also donate your earnings to charity.

So far, I’ve withdrawn 10.75 CHF. Back in August 2023, that was about 12.14 USD.

Still Testing

Here are the methods that have given me either on-site / in-app credits which haven’t been withdrawn into cash yet or have paid me through some sort of lesser known crypto. As I’m writing this guide I cannot say 100%, that you’ll be able to withdraw money with these methods, but since I personally use them, I thought I’d add them here too.

Clickspaid – Paid to Click

Just like Serpclix, Clickspaid pays you 0.05 USD or 0.10 USD to search a given phrase on Google or Bing, to then scroll through the search results until you find the client’s website and to then click on that website and scroll through it for 1-2 minutes.

Unlike Serpclix, there are some orders that I’ve gotten, where I’ll need to go from page to page until finally at page 10 or so I’ll find the website I need to click on. Clickspaid also only works on the Firefox browser.

ZBD – Play mobile games for Bitcoin

Addslice – Paid to view ads

Sweatcoin App – Paid to Walk in Crypto

Sweatcoin is a mobile app available on iOS and android. Essentially it pays you in a crypto called Sweat based on how much you walk each day.

As of 20/08/2024, you get 1 Sweat token for every 6’480 steps you walk. Unfortunately, these tokens aren’t worth anything today. 1000 tokens are worth 7.10 USD. I’ve been using this app for almost 6 years at this point and have accumulated over 6’000 tokens which are currently only worth 48 USD.

As for battery life concerns, I haven’t noticed my phone battery draining any faster than usual. I also checked my battery statistics and Sweatcoin is definitely not draining my battery.

Despite the crypto not being worth much at the moment, I thought I’d still put this app in my guide as collecting these tokens by walking is very passive.

Referral Code: redfirea

Pi App – Free Crypto

Pi is a mobile app available for all devices. You can log-in every 24 hours to mine pi coins. If you’re worried about your battery life, mining does not affect your battery life whatsoever. I’ve been using the app for over 5 years now and and have not noticed anything.

As of 20/08/2024, I have quite a lot of pi. You can’t sell it for cash yet though. However, since you can basically collect these tokens passively and for free, I thought it would be worth putting this method in my guide.

High Effort, Low Reward

Before I talk about the upcoming methods, I just want to point out that these next few methods don’t pay that well. I’m talking fractions of pennies from their hourly faucets or from their pay to click offers. Unless you really have nothing better to do, I wouldn’t bother with these methods.

Cointiply – Hourly Faucet, Paid to Click

Disclaimer: This site is a http and not a https site. I personally haven’t had any issues yet, probably cause my antivirus lets me know if something’s fishy.

Just like most GPT (get paid to) sites, Cointiply has Offerwalls. I’ve mainly been earning through its hourly faucet and through its PTC (paid to click) offers.

Every hour, you can click the “roll” button to activate the faucet. Depending on the number you roll, you’ll get a certain amount of coins. You can expect between 23-38 coins per roll.

I’ve also completed multiple PTC (paid to click) offers. The highest one I’ve seen paid 200 coins and I had to stay on the website for about 30 seconds. Each offer after that doesn’t require you to stay as long, going as low as 6 seconds, however the pay also goes down drastically reaching as low as 6 coins for some offers.

Now 10’000 coins is worth 1 USD. So 100 coins is just 1 cent. So far, I’ve earned 8’233 coins so about 82 cents. The only way you can withdraw your coins is in bitcoin, DOGE, DASH or LTC starting at 50’000 coins. You can also deposit bitcoin onto the site to get more coins. Something that I think is interesting is that the site offers to pay 5 percent yearly interest on your coin balance, if you have 35’000 coins or more. This interest is paid weekly.

Coinpayu – Paid to Click

Coinpayu has offerwalls but their main thing is PTC (paid to click) ads. At most you can expect 4 points per PTC offer. Now 1000 points is 1 USD, which means you’re being paid between 0.1 – 0.4 cents per click. So far I’ve earned 1’105 points.

Besides withdrawing gift cards or crypto, you can also use your points to create PTC (paid to click) ads of your own. I haven’t tried it yet though

Firefaucet – Daily Click, Hourly Faucet, Paid to Click

Claimcoin – Daily Click, Faucet, Paid to Click

Freebitcoin – Hourly Faucet

Disclaimer: This site has a lot of pages that are related to gambling! If you’re prone to getting hooked to gambling, I’d avoid this site entirely!

On Freebitcoin there’s an hourly faucet that gives you 3 satoshi aka 0.00000003 bitcoin every time you click it. You also get reward points and lottery tickets (tickets can be disabled and replaced with reward points instead in your account settings). You can exchange your reward points for bitcoin as soon as you have 100’000 of them…. Each point is also worth 1 satoshi.

The site also offers interest on your bitcoin balance. As for withdrawals, you can withdraw anytime either through the slow method, which has a gas fee of 120 satoshi and takes 6-24 hours or through the fast method, which has a gas fee of 511 satoshi and takes about 15 minutes. Since I currently have a balance of 189 satoshi, I won’t be withdrawing anytime soon, as the gas fee makes it pointless at the moment. As of today, 100 satoshi is about 6 cents.
