Honeygain – Sell your internet

Honeygain lets you sell your internet for cash. They pay you $0.20 per GB you share. It’s an app you can download on your PC, laptop, phone or tablet.

How does Honeygain work?

After downloading the Honeygain application on your PC, laptop, phone or tablet, it makes you money, by selling your unused internet bandwidth. In order for you to make money, you will need to have the applcation open and you will need to be connected to the internet. 1000 credits = $1

Gathering

The default method of bandwidth sharing pays you 200 credits ($0.20) per GB shared. In Switzerland, I earn 50 – 100 credits per day from sharing my internet, so about $0.05 to $0.10 a day on most days. There are days, where the earnings spiked up to $0.20 to $0.30 though. I assume these are days where there was either more demand for Honeygain’s services or less people in my area using Honeygain on those days.

Content Delivery

Content Delivery is an additional way to earn on Honeygain, that is only available on PC or laptop. You’ll first need to queue up via the Honeygain application. Once there’s a spot free, Content Delivery will be active. You’ll earn 0.1 credit for every minute you have Content Delivery active. That’s 6 credits ($0.006) an hour or 144 credits ($0.144) a day.

Lucky Pot

If you share at least 5 MB through gathering in a day, you can open the Lucky Pot containing a random amount of credits. This is usually around 5 – 10 credits ($0.005 – $0.01), but if you’re lucky, you could win up to 5000, 10000 credits. I managed to get lucky back on June 13th 2025 and I won 5000 credits ($5).

Jumptask Bonus

If you choose to payout your earnings to Jumptask tokens, more about that in the Payout section, you’ll earn an 10% bonus on your earnings. So for every $1 you earn, you’ll receive $1.10 worth of Jumptask tokens.

Referral System

You can also earn by referring others to Honeygain. You’ll earn 25% of what your referrals make through Gathering.

Things to look out for

Is Honeygain safe?

According to this post from Honeygain, they don’t gather any data from users besides their email, IP address and chosen payout methods. In 2025, they even joined Amtso, the Anti-Malware Testing Standards Organization.

I used Honeygain back in August and September 2023 and then again between March 2024 until July 2024. Currently, I’ve been using it since the 26th of August 2025. As of now, I haven’t had any issues with my IP or internet since using Honeygain. However, I personally haven’t been able to find out who their customers are, that are buying our internet.

Credits Expiration

If you choose to payout your credits to paypal, they’ll accumulate until you reach 20’000 credits ($20). If you’re inactive for 6 months or longer, your credits will expire and you’ll no longer be able to claim them. I’m not sure if being inactive just means not earning for 6 months or if it means not earning AND not logging into your account / dashboard for 6 months.

If you received your credits as JumpTask tokens, they will not expire. More about that in the Payout section.

Payout

There are 2 ways you can receive your money. You can either withdraw your earnings to your paypal or you can receive it in the form of Jumptask tokens.

Paypal

By default, you will receive your earnings in your paypal. If you want to receive your earnings this way, you’ll first have to wait until you’ve earned 20’000 credits ($20). Only then, will you be able to request a payout. I haven’t requested my earnings via paypal, so I can’t say how long you have to wait until your money lands in your account. I withdraw my earnings through Jumptask Tokens.

Jumptask Tokens

If you opt in, your earnings will be given to you in the form of Jumptask Tokens. By doing so, you’ll also earn a 10% bonus on your earnings. So for every $1 you earn, you’ll receive $1.10 worth of Jumptask Tokens. Your tokens will instantly appear on the jumptask website, where you’ll be able to withdraw them to your crypto wallet, as soon as you have at least 0.5 Jumptask Tokens. As of August 26th 2025, 1 Jumptask Token is $1.06, making the minimum withdrawal $0.53.

The fee for withdrawing your tokens is fix I believe. For me it was 1 GWEI, which was $0.03 back in June / July 2024. To sell your tokens, you’ll then need to swap them for BNB coins. The fee associated with swapping your tokens is about 0.6% as of August 26th 2025. This fee also needs to be paid in BNB coins, so you will need some in your crypto wallet to facilitate the swap. If you want to keep your earnings in BNB coins, go ahead. If not, you can sell them for FIAT money. Just don’t forget about the fees when doing so.

Now it’s a little tedious withdrawing earnings to Jumptask Tokens, however the fees aren’t that bad and the payout is incredibly fast. Also the 10% bonus on honeygain earnings more than covers any fees.

Payout Proof

If you’re redeeming your earnings in JumpTask tokens like me, you can log into your account on jumptask.io. Earnings are constantly up to date, meaning you can withdraw your tokens to your crypto wallet at any time.

Conclusion

If you have a PC, that’s always on and is always connected to the internet, Honeygain is a no brainer for you. I wouldn’t recommend running it 24/7 on a phone, tablet or even a laptop, but you could definitely have it start up and run in the background whenever you use your laptop. Up to now, I haven’t experienced any performance issues with my PC or laptop, whenever Honeygain is running on them.

Honeygain is an extremely passive way of making money. In Switzerland, if you have it running in the background 24/7 on a PC, have Content Delivery active, redeem the Lucky Pot daily and withdraw your earnings to Jumptask, you can expect to make $0.15 – $0.25 a day, which is $4.5 – $7.5 a month!
